Figma's blog keeps pushing incremental product and workflow updates rather than one big yearly reveal. For Figma+Penpot users, that steady drip is easier to track weekly than to catch up on later.
Figma's release cadence has settled into frequent, smaller updates rather than one blockbuster launch a year. That's good news and bad news for a junior: good because you don't need to relearn the tool overnight, bad because it's easy to fall a few months behind without noticing.
Since you're also using Penpot, the useful habit isn't picking a side — it's noticing which features Figma adds that Penpot doesn't have yet (and vice versa), so you understand the tradeoffs rather than just the marketing. This is established, mature-tool territory, not a trend — Figma isn't going anywhere, but its feature set keeps moving under your feet.
