AI design tools are increasingly used for real production tasks, not just flashy demos. Reliability and craft still lag behind the marketing, so treat every output as a first draft.

For the last year or so, AI in design has mostly meant flashy demos — magic mockups, one-prompt logos. That's shifting. More teams are folding AI into ordinary steps: drafting copy, generating placeholder content, tidying layer names, summarising research notes. It's not magic. Outputs still need editing, and judgement calls (hierarchy, accessibility, tone) are still yours to make. This is **adoption**, not hype — the tools aren't new, but using them for boring, repetitive tasks rather than showpieces is the real shift. As a junior, this is good news: the grunt work is exactly what these tools are decent at, freeing you up for the thinking part of the job.
